Her platform: “To inspire women to take a fun, well-designed, and guilt-free approach to telling their stories.”

Her home: St. Paul, Minnesota

Her family: Married to Dan. Mom to Aidan (14) and Cole (10)

Her first big break: I saw the innagural issue of Simple Scrapbooks magazine at my local Archivers, and I decided to send in a few of my layouts. A few weeks later, I received a call from the magazine’s Editor in Chief, Stacy Julian, who said, “I don't know who you are but I want to work with you.” Famous last words.

Her biggest professional accomplishment: Writing my two books, Clean and Simple Scrapbooking and Clean and Simple Scrapbooking the Sequel. These were very proud moments in the timeline of my life.

Her must-read blogs: Ali Edwards' blog, Dooce.com, and my latest fave, Run Like a Mother

What she wishes she’d been named: In my early 20s, I thought “Jane Hunger” would've been a superb pen name.

Her version of the annoying catchphrase, “_____ is the new ____”: Running is the new smoking (at least for me, because I tend to go a bit overboard on things, sometimes in unhealthy ways).

What she wanted to be when she grew up: I wanted to be a psychologist. And no, I'm not 100 percent grown up yet, but by God with a lot of conscious effort and a bit of over-priced therapy, I'm getting there.

What she does:

  • Blogs at cathyzielske.typepad.com
  • Creates digital-scrapbooking templates and products for designerdigitals.com
  • Teaches popular online workshops at Big Picture Scrapbooking
  • Designs the monthly eBooks released by Ella Publishing Co.
  • Works as a freelance graphic designer both inside and outside the scrapbooking industry
