It’s time for another by-invitation cover girl! For odd months (and May was so very odd), we hold a contest to select a fabulous, cover-worthy layout designed by a talented Ella reader. However, for even months, our editorial team scours the Internet for talented scrapbookers that could bring
a fresh perspective to our website, and we invite them personally.
But no matter which approach we take, you never know if you’ll be the next fresh face on Ella’s website. This month, we fell for Kelly Goree’s bright and sophisticated scrapbooking style. (This girl knows how to layer!) Enjoy your chance to get to know the woman behind the cover layout just a little bit better.
My name is: Kelly Goree
I've been scrapbooking since: early 2000 just after my oldest son, Ethan, was born.
I spend my days: working from home, running errands, and trying to keep up with our hectic schedule!
~We’d like to know if it’s possible for a modern woman to be at her home and NOT be working on something or another.

My cover layout was inspired by: the vivid, bold colors of summertime.
My family is made up of: three wild and crazy boys! No, make that four wild and crazy boys, if you count my husband.
~Yes, husbands definitely count. In many cases, they are the very source of said wildness, not to mention the craziness.
I'd describe my scrapbooking style as: classic, with a twist. And I typically prefer multi-photo layouts, so I find it funny that all the layouts featured here are single-photo pages! Clearly, I also love experimenting with different page styles and sizes.
My favorite inspiration sources are: Real Simple magazine, J.Crew Catalog, Two Peas in a Bucket, and so much more.
~A woman after our own hearts.

A Favorite Layout
"This is a favorite layout because not only do I adore the photo itself, I also love how the colors in this product line pick up the colors in the photo. The gold tones warm everything up and the earthy colors just scream 'BOY!' to me." |

If I could go back in time, I would: have one more day with my dad.
~What a lovely and poignant wish. If we ever perfect that time machine we're working on in our spare time, we'll make sure Kelly is the first to know.
In 10 years, I hope to be: happy.
People are always surprised to find out that I: am short.
~But she seems so tall...
My favorite guilty pleasure is: Glee!
~We’re going to take a guess and assume she's referring to the wildly popular television show on FOX. Guilty as charged!

Another Favorite Layout
"I adore this layout (and have for a while—it's an oldie but goodie!) because of the fun and whimsical feel it has. Not only are the little bees playful, but the colors are so fun and vibrant. And that photo? Well, it's just to die for! If only I could take credit for it, but that little cutie belongs to my friend Shelby Valadez." |

If I were to author an eBook, I'd title it: Five Simple Tips for Mixing Patterned Papers
If there's one thing I know for sure, it's this: that I never know as much as I think I do!
~Hmm, so the real question is, how much does she THINK she knows?
I never thought I'd: be a mom to three boys, that I’d scrapbook for a living, or that I’d travel as often as I do.
My favorite Ella eBook is: Rebecca Cooper's 40 Tips for Better Photos.
~A worthy choice. And hundreds of Ella customers agree; Rebecca’s eBook is our best seller so far.
Many thanks to Kelly Goree for subjecting herself to our interrogation. Keep up with Kelly—and her creative adventures as a BasicGrey staff designer—by visiting her adorable blog.
