Pair basic patterns in Halloween colors with a bit of glitz for a festive holiday feel. I love using Stickles! When I'm through with my page, the glitter stays where I put it instead of getting all over me. A glitter dusting is fine on Halloween itself, but I'd rather not look like I'm in costume on regular days! My glitter title was also ultra-easy to use because it comes predesigned on a decorative transparency that's easy to attach to your page with a simple brad.

Product tip: Allow the Stickles to dry overnight before handling your page or slipping it into a page protector. This is just a bit of extra insurance against the dreaded "pixie dust" attack!

Unlike my previous page, this layout features subtle patterned papers in limited colors, because I wanted my scary-cute stickers to really stand out. I used clusters of these stickers in three separate spots on my layout, creating a nice visual triangle that frames my photos.

Design tip: If the right edge of your journaling block will be adjacent to a straight edge (like a row of photos), consider right-justifying your text as I did here. Since the jagged edge of my text "goes with the flow" of the curvy green patterned paper, and my straight edges are together, my page has a more polished look.

When I opened this vintage Halloween mini-kit, I wasn't sure exactly what would be inside or what I was going to do with the pieces, but I felt like a kid on Halloween night, sorting through my treats! Instead of using the kit to create an artist trading card, as it's designed for, I decided to use the pieces on a layout about my childhood costumes.

Photo tip: Think in circles! As a simple scrapbooker (one who uses few techniques), I get tired of using square or rectangular photos all the time, so I rounded things out for this design.
