Creating scrapbook pages can be so fulfilling, but then you slip the page into an album, and put it away on the shelf. Wouldn't it be nice to create something with your photo that can be out on display for all to see? What if you could create something "off the page" that could be switched out easily and regularly? What if that "off the page" project was super cute to boot? Today I am sharing a SUPER simple idea to take your memory making OFF the page and on display, using an inexpensive Ikea frame (or ANY frame) and your imagination!
I will be using this super cute (though plain) frame from Ikea - and this is crazy inexpensive at 2 for 99 cents! You can't beat that.
Remove the plastic insert so the frame is empty. This will work with any frame, as long as the frame itself is thin enough to get a binder ring around it. At this point you can add a little bit of bling, ribbon, or other embellishments. I liked this little butterfly from the dollar store.
Measure the INSIDE of the frame (the opening) and create a little (itty bitty) scrapbook page about a quarter inch smaller on all sides. Then, punch two holes and add two binder rings. While you are at it, create 3 or 4 little layouts that you can "flip" through whenever you want a change)!
Now clip the binder rings around the top part of the frame to "hang" your mini layouts!
There you have it! A cute "flip chart" type way to display some photos and journaling for all to see!
Try using a larger frame that you can hang on the wall! Instead of binder rings, tie the page on with ribbon, baker's twine, or wire! The possibilities are as endless as your imagination. Happy creating!!
